I’m interested in the ecological and evolutionary significance of plant-microbiome interactions and the generation of biotechnological solutions for agriculture. During my PhD I studied the microbiome of agaves and cacti, and evaluated how kesytone microorganisms influence the assembly of phyllospheric microbial communities and plant productivity. In Eva Stukenbrock’s lab I will study the host specialization of pathogens driven by the leaf microbiome, and the role of pathogen effector proteins in this interaction.
